Why is oxygen so important?
Oxygen is the lifeblood of our existence. Each day, an adult consumes approximately 2 kg of food, 1 liter of water, and a staggering 550 liters of oxygen. A remarkable 90% of our energy is derived from oxygen, with the human brain, comprising just 2% of body weight, consuming 25% of our oxygen intake. This vital element fuels the energy cycle that sustains life. Without sufficient oxygen, our tissues face a dire chain of events leading to infections, tissue damage, or both. Combatting hypoxia—low oxygen in tissues—is crucial, and the hyperbaric chamber offers a proven solution.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
During pressurization, you may notice pressure changes in your ears, similar to being on an airplane. To alleviate this slight discomfort, you can yawn, swallow, or gently blow your nose. Apart from ear pressure, there are no extraordinary sensations inside the chamber.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Inside a pressurized chamber, although the environment feels normal, breathing pure oxygen at 1.3 to 1.5 times regular air pressure enhances oxygen intake by 7-8 times. According to Henry's Law, the amount of gas dissolving in a liquid is proportional to its pressure. This principle allows the pressurized oxygen to dissolve into body fluids, rapidly boosting tissue oxygen levels and promoting healing, as supported by scientific evidence.
What improvements can I expect to see?
With many variables at play, results can vary widely. However, improvements in quality of life are often noticeable. Each individual's experience is unique, but positive changes are typically observed, contributing to an enhanced sense of well-being.
When will I know how many sessions of hbot are enough?
Determining the exact number of sessions can be challenging, but observing continued improvements is key. Clinical studies suggest around 15 sessions for acute injuries and 40 for chronic conditions. If noticeable results occur during the initial sessions, consider additional series of 40 sessions as needed. Ultimately, you are the best judge of your progress.
