Why is oxygen so important?
Oxygen is life’s essential fuel: daily, adults absorb 2 kg of food, 1 liter of water, and a staggering 550 liters of oxygen, powering 90% of our energy. Our brain, though only 2% of body weight, employs 25% of this oxygen to sustain life’s energy cycle. Insufficient oxygen triggers critical events that, unless corrected, lead to disease, infection, or tissue destruction. Addressing hypoxia swiftly is crucial. A hyperbaric chamber is a remarkable solution, effectively combating tissue hypoxia.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
During pressurization in the chamber, your ears may undergo pressure changes, possibly causing discomfort. To alleviate this, try yawning, swallowing, or gently 'blowing the nose' to equalize pressure. Beyond this, the experience is typically free from any other unusual sensations.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
In a chamber pressurized at 1.3 to 1.5 times normal air pressure, while the sensation may seem unchanged, breathing pure oxygen significantly multiplies the oxygen intake by 7-8 times. According to Henry's Law, the gas’s solubility in liquid increases with pressure, allowing pressurized oxygen to dissolve in all body fluids. This rapidly elevates tissue oxygen levels, which scientifically stimulates healing processes.
What improvements can I expect to see ?
The impacts vary widely, yet generally, an improvement in life quality is expected. Though outcomes differ as no two individuals respond identically, it's rare not to witness positive changes, signifying enhanced well-being.
When will I know how many sessions of hbot are enough?
Determining the exact number isn't straightforward. Noticing continuous improvements is key. Studies with 1730 subjects suggest approximately 15 sessions for acute conditions and 40 for chronic ones. If positive results manifest within the first 40, consider an additional 40. Continue as long as improvements are evident. Ultimately, you're the best judge of your needs, even more so than a doctor.
