Why is oxygen so important?
Every day, an average adult requires 2 kg of food, 1 liter of water, and significantly, nearly 550 liters of oxygen. Astonishingly, 90% of our daily energy is derived from oxygen, with only the remainder coming from food and water. The human brain, though only 2% of total body weight, demands a whopping 25% of the oxygen we breathe, vital for the energy cycle that keeps us alive. Inadequate oxygen in tissues, or hypoxia, if uncorrected, can lead to dire health issues, including infections or tissue damage. Correcting this is crucial, and a hyperbaric chamber provides an effective remedy, efficiently addressing tissue hypoxia.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
As the chamber pressurizes, you might initially experience ear pressure changes, causing slight discomfort. To alleviate this, you can yawn, swallow, or 'blow' your nose to equalize the pressure and ease any fullness. Besides this mild ear pressure sensation, there are no other unusual feelings inside the chamber.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Inside the chamber, pressurized to 1.3 to 1.5 times normal air pressure, you may not notice a difference, but inhaling pure oxygen increases your oxygen intake by 7-8 times. According to Henry's Law, the amount of gas dissolving in a liquid is proportional to its partial pressure. Thus, the pressurized oxygen dissolves directly into bodily fluids, quickly elevating tissue oxygen levels. This process is scientifically validated, promoting accelerated healing and recovery.
What improvements can I expect to see?
This question embraces numerous variables; thus, responses will be generalized. While individual results vary, it is highly unusual not to observe improvements. The overarching goal is enhancing one's quality of life, which is consistently achieved across diverse experiences.
When will I know how many sessions of hbot are enough?
Determining the exact number of necessary sessions isn't straightforward. Pay attention to ongoing improvements. A clinical study involving 1730 subjects indicates around 15 sessions for acute injuries and 40 for chronic ones. If positive results are observed within the first 40 sessions, continue with another 40. Observe continued improvements to assess additional session needs. You are the best judge of your treatment requirements.
