Why is oxygen so important?
Every day, an average adult thrives on 2 kg of nutritious food, 1 liter of refreshing water, and almost 550 liters of revitalizing oxygen, the cornerstone of 90% of our daily energy, with the rest derived from food and water. Our brain, a mere 2% of total body weight, astonishingly demands 25% of the oxygen we inhale, powering the essential energy cycle that sustains life. Inadequate oxygen levels in body tissues can trigger a cascade of events leading to disease conditions, such as infections or tissue damage. Hypoxia, or low oxygen levels in tissues, presents a critical window for intervention. An exceptional remedy is the use of a hyperbaric chamber, expertly designed to restore tissue oxygenation.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
During pressurization in the chamber, you may notice changes in ear pressure, possibly causing slight discomfort. To equalize pressure and alleviate ear fullness, try yawning, swallowing, or gently 'blowing the nose.' Beyond this, there are no unusual sensations, as the chamber experience is generally comfortable and soothing.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Inside a chamber pressurized at 1.3 or 1.5 times normal air pressure, the experience might seem familiar, yet breathing pure oxygen elevates our intake to 7-8 times the usual amount. According to Henry's Law, the amount of gas dissolving in a liquid is proportional to its partial pressure. This pressurized oxygen dissolves directly into all body fluids, rapidly enhancing tissue oxygen levels far beyond normal, a scientifically validated mechanism that accelerates healing.
What improvements can I expect to see?
This question invites a multitude of possibilities and diverse outcomes, warranting a generalized answer. While individual results vary, improvements are commonly observed, with a notable enhancement in quality of life for most users.
When will I know how many sessions of hbot are enough?
Determining the ideal number of sessions is subjective. Noticeable improvements indicate effectiveness. A clinical study involving 1730 subjects suggests approximately 15 sessions for acute injuries and 40 for chronic cases. If progress is evident after the initial 40 sessions, consider continuing. As improvements persist, additional sessions may be warranted. Ultimately, you are the best judge of your therapeutic needs.
