Why is oxygen so important?
Every day, the average adult consumes 2 kg of food, 1 liter of water, and almost 550 liters of oxygen. An astounding 90% of our daily energy derives from oxygen, with food and water providing the rest. The human brain, a mere 2% of body weight, uses an impressive 25% of the oxygen we breathe. This precious oxygen fuels the energy cycle that sustains life. Insufficient oxygen in our tissues can lead to disease, whether through infection, tissue destruction, or both. In the event of low tissue oxygen (hypoxia), there's a brief window to correct it. The hyperbaric chamber is an excellent solution to rectify tissue hypoxia.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
During pressurization, you may experience ear pressure changes, potentially causing slight ear discomfort. To equalize and alleviate this sensation, simply yawn, swallow, or perform the 'blow the nose' technique. Apart from ear pressure, expect no other unusual sensations.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Inside a chamber pressurized at 1.3 or 1.5 times normal air pressure, it may seem ordinary. Nonetheless, inhaling pure oxygen in such an environment delivers 7-8 times the usual oxygen amount. Henry's Law explains this phenomenon: the gas amount dissolving in a liquid is proportional to its partial pressure. Consequently, pressurized oxygen permeates body fluids, substantially elevating tissue oxygen levels within minutes. Scientifically proven, this process stimulates healing effectively.
What improvements can I expect to see?
With numerous variables at play, results can differ widely. However, it's rare not to see improvements. The focus is enhancing life quality for every individual. Let us guide you toward an optimized experience, uniquely tailored to your needs.
When will I know how many sessions of hbot are enough?
The answer lies in your personal experience. Notice ongoing improvements? That's your cue. A study with 1730 subjects suggests around 15 sessions for acute injuries and 40 for chronic conditions. Observe results within the first 40, and consider another 40. Continue as long as improvements do. You, more than any doctor, are the best judge of your session needs.
