Why is oxygen so important?
Oxygen is vital, as the average adult inhales nearly 550 liters of it daily, powering 90% of our energy needs. Although the brain constitutes only 2% of body weight, it consumes a whopping 25% of the oxygen we breathe. This precious element is essential to the energy cycle that sustains life. Insufficient oxygen in body tissues triggers a cascade of events, potentially leading to disease, infection, or tissue destruction. Hypoxia, or low oxygen in tissues, presents a critical window for correction. A hyperbaric chamber is a superb solution for addressing tissue hypoxia.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
Inside the hyperbaric chamber, as pressurization occurs, you may notice pressure changes in your ears, which can feel slightly uncomfortable. Alleviate this sensation by yawning, swallowing, or "blowing your nose" to equalize ear pressure. Beyond this, expect no unusual sensations.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Within a chamber pressurized at 1.3 or 1.5 times normal air pressure, breathing pure oxygen can increase the oxygen absorbed by your body 7-8 times over. According to Henry's Law, the amount of gas dissolving in a liquid correlates with its partial pressure. This pressurized oxygen dissolves directly into bodily fluids, dramatically boosting tissue oxygen levels in minutes, stimulating scientifically-proven healing processes.
What improvements can I expect to see?
While individual results vary, generally, users notice enhanced quality of life. It's rare not to see improvements, but specifics depend on numerous variables. We aim for overall life quality enhancement.
When will I know how many sessions of HBOT are enough?
Determining the right number of sessions relies on personal progress. Clinical studies on 1,730 subjects suggest around 15 sessions for acute injuries and 40 for chronic ones. If improvements are noted during the initial 40 sessions, consider continuing with another set of 40. Your judgment on the number of sessions required is often more insightful than a doctor's.
