Why is oxygen so important?
Oxygen is a vital element of human life, with the average adult consuming nearly 550 liters each day. It contributes to 90% of our daily energy, significantly surpassing food and water. The brain, comprising just 2% of body weight, utilizes an impressive 25% of this oxygen to uphold the energy cycle essential for life. Insufficient oxygen leads to tissue hypoxia, which, if unaddressed, can usher in disease via infection or tissue destruction. Prompt intervention is crucial, and a hyperbaric chamber serves as an exceptional remedy to counteract tissue hypoxia effectively.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
As the chamber pressurizes, minor ear pressure akin to altitude changes may occur, causing slight discomfort. This can be alleviated through yawning, swallowing, or gently blowing the nose. Beyond this, the experience is serene and free from any unusual sensations.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Within a chamber pressurized to 1.3 or 1.5 times normal atmospheric pressure, breathing pure oxygen elevates oxygen intake by 7-8 fold. This is explained by Henry's Law, which states that the gas dissolves in liquid proportionally to its partial pressure. Thus, pressurized oxygen dissolves into body fluids, rapidly boosting tissue oxygen levels, a phenomenon scientifically proven to enhance healing.
What improvements can I expect to see ?
While results vary, most people see substantial improvements in their quality of life. Though individual experiences differ, it is rare to witness no advancement at all. Our aim is to enhance overall well-being for each individual.
When will I know how many sessions of hbot are enough?
Determining the exact number of sessions can be challenging. Typically, around 15 sessions are needed for acute injuries and 40 for chronic conditions, as per a clinical study on 1730 subjects. If progress is noticed during initial sessions, continue until improvements plateau. Your perception of progress is often more accurate than a doctor's recommendation.
