Why is oxygen so important?
Oxygen is a fundamental element of life, with an average adult consuming nearly 550 liters daily, providing 90% of our energy needs. While the brain represents only 2% of body weight, it uses 25% of the oxygen we breathe, highlighting its critical role in sustaining life. Insufficient oxygen in tissues can lead to serious health issues, but this can be effectively addressed with the use of a hyperbaric chamber, which corrects tissue hypoxia and supports healing and recovery.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
As the chamber pressurizes, you may notice changes in ear pressure, similar to what you feel on an airplane. Techniques like yawning, swallowing, or gently blowing your nose can help equalize this pressure and alleviate discomfort. Beyond this, the experience is typically free from any other unusual sensations, allowing for a calm and comfortable session.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Inside a hyperbaric chamber, the environment is pressurized up to 1.3 or 1.5 times the normal air pressure, allowing you to breathe in 7-8 times the usual amount of oxygen. According to Henry's Law, this increased pressure helps oxygen dissolve more effectively into body fluids, rapidly elevating tissue oxygen levels and scientifically proven to stimulate healing and recovery.
What improvements can I expect to see?
Improvements vary among individuals, but generally, users observe enhanced quality of life, as the hyperbaric chamber is known for its broad spectrum of benefits. While each experience is unique, it is uncommon not to witness positive changes.
When will I know how many sessions of HBOT are enough?
Determining the exact number of hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions depends on individual progress. Clinical studies suggest approximately 15 sessions for acute injuries and around 40 for chronic conditions. Continue with additional sessions if you notice ongoing improvements, trusting your judgment to guide you through the therapy process.
