Why is oxygen so important?
Oxygen is the cornerstone of vitality! Daily, an average adult consumes 2 kg of food, 1 liter of water, and nearly 550 liters of oxygen. A whopping 90% of our daily energy emerges from oxygen—only the remaining 10% is from our food and water. Astonishingly, the human brain, which constitutes merely 2% of our body weight, devours 25% of the oxygen we breathe. This precious oxygen fuels the energy cycle that perpetuates life. When our tissues suffer from oxygen deprivation (hypoxia), a series of detrimental events ensue, potentially leading to disease, infections, or tissue damage if left unchecked. A critical timeframe exists to rectify tissue hypoxia, and one of the most effective solutions is utilizing a hyperbaric chamber.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
Inside the chamber during pressurization, you may notice pressure changes in your ears, which could feel slightly uncomfortable. To equalize this pressure and prevent ear fullness, simply yawn, swallow, or gently 'blow your nose.' Apart from this minor ear sensation, there are no unusual experiences.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Stepping into a chamber pressurized at 1.3 or 1.5 times normal air pressure might not seem much different, yet it elevates your oxygen intake to 7-8 times the usual amount when breathing pure oxygen. According to Henry's Law, at a gas-liquid interface, the amount of gas dissolved in a liquid is proportional to its partial pressure. Thus, pressurized oxygen infuses directly into all body fluids, rapidly boosting tissue oxygen levels beyond normal. This remarkable increase is scientifically validated to foster healing.
What improvements can I expect to see ?
Anticipating improvements is intriguing yet complex, as it varies vastly among individuals. While we must generalize, it is exceedingly rare not to witness enhancements. Ultimately, what we seek is a noticeable uplift in life quality for every participant.
When will I know how many sessions of hbot are enough?
Determining the perfect number of HBOT sessions isn't straightforward. Instead, observe ongoing improvements. Clinical studies on 1730 individuals suggest roughly 15 sessions for acute injuries and 40 for chronic cases. If you notice progress during the first 40 sessions, consider an additional 40. Continue as long as improvements persist. Ultimately, you are the best judge of the necessary number of sessions, even surpassing any medical advice.
