Why is oxygen so important?
The human body relies heavily on oxygen, consuming nearly 550 liters daily to fuel 90% of our energy needs, with the brain using a substantial 25%. Adequate oxygen intake is vital to prevent tissue damage and diseases caused by hypoxia. The hyperbaric chamber offers a solution to correct tissue hypoxia swiftly, helping maintain overall health.
What do you feel inside a hyperbaric chamber?
As the chamber pressurizes, you might notice ear pressure changes, similar to altitude adjustments. Simple actions like yawning, swallowing, or gently 'blowing your nose' can mitigate discomfort. Aside from this minor ear pressure, the experience is serene and unremarkable.
How does being inside a pressurized chamber give us more oxygen?
Inside a hyperbaric chamber pressurized to 1.3 or 1.5 times normal air pressure, breathing pure oxygen elevates oxygen levels to 7-8 times the standard amount. According to Henry's Law, this pressure aids in dissolving oxygen directly into bodily fluids, significantly enhancing tissue oxygenation and accelerating healing.
What improvements can I expect to see?
While experiences vary greatly, most users report noticeable enhancements in life quality. Although results differ, improvements are commonly observed, affirming the chamber's efficacy in fostering well-being.
When will I know how many sessions of HBOT are enough?
Your ability to observe continuous improvements is key. Clinical research involving 1,730 subjects has highlighted that approximately 15 sessions are needed for acute injuries, while chronic conditions may require around 40 sessions. If you notice positive results within the first 40 sessions, continue with another 40. As long as improvements persist, keep going with additional sessions. Ultimately, you are the most qualified to determine the optimal number of sessions for your needs, even more than any doctor.
Concerns regarding Oxygen Toxicity?
Oxygen Toxicity is generally not an issue at pressures lower than 1.5 ATA. Often, what is perceived as oxygen toxicity is actually stress. However, on rare occasions, some individuals may exhibit a heightened sensitivity to oxygen. In such cases, adjustments in pressure can be made to cater to the specific requirements of the patient.
